Albuquerque sits at the foot of the Sandia mountains. This means lots of hills, lots of stairs and obviously lots of spots. But what it also has is a drainage ditch system that runs down the mountain. Every main street running down from the mountain has a ditch either next to it or behind some houses in a neighborhood. This environment is a perfect breeding ground for young skaters to grow up to become full blown shredders. Miles of spots with no bust factor, tons of schools with little to no security, and a downtown that couldn’t be any more empty on the weekend. These guys came out hitting hard and were stacking clips like pancakes. It was freezing some of the nights and these dudes were still on it, trying to get the sesh going any time they had a chance.
